After the public school system was broadly developed starting in the 19th century, some mother and father discovered causes to be discontented with the model new system. Alternative education developed in part as a reaction to perceived limitations and failings of conventional education. A broad range of academic approaches emerged, together with various schools, self studying, homeschooling, and unschooling.
